Terra Pave Solar Albedo™ (TPSA) Measurement Kit 1 - This promotional package includes a SP-510-SS thermopile pyranometer (upward-looking), a SP-610-SS thermopile pyranometer (downward-looking), an AY-001 differential splitter, AT-100 microCache Bluetooth Micro Logger and an AW-605-SS 5 meter cable.

Apogee Instruments SP-510 and SP-610 pyranometers consist of a thermopile detector, acrylic diffuser (SP-510) or glass window (SP-610), heater, and signal processing circuitry mounted in an anodized aluminum housing. For mounting to a mast or directly to a solar panel, we recommend using either the AL-130 Albedometer mounting bracket or the AM-500 Net Radiometer mounting bracket paired with an AM-130 mounting fixture with 12" rod.



Albedo measurements indicate the broadband shortwave reflectivity of materials and are used to monitor bifacial solar panels, understand heat retention in urban and architectural settings, and study climate and weather. Typical applications for pyranometers include shortwave radiation measurement in agricultural, ecological, and hydrological weather networks.

The SP-710-SS includes in-line IP68 marine-grade stainless-steel cable connectors placed 30 cm from the sensor heads for either standard use as a long-cable pigtail sensor, or for use with our AT-100 microCache Bluetooth Micro Logger. To connect both sensors to the microCache for dual measurements, use the AY-001 differential splitter.



The AT-100 connects directly to several Apogee sensors and features live meter mode, stand-alone datalogging, and graphing using our free Apogee Connect App for iOS and Android. The new Apogee microCache (µCache) is a ruggedized, battery-powered, Bluetooth® Low Energy, single-sensor datalogging device that can be used with Apogee's SQ-110 Original Quantum, SQ-500 Full-spectrum Quantum, SQ-620 Extended Range PFD sensor, SQ-640 Quantum Light Pollution sensor, SP-700 Albedometer, S2-141 PAR-FAR sensor, S2-131 Red - Far-red sensor, SP-110 Silicon-cell Pyranometer, SP-510-SS and SP-610-SS Thermopile Pyranometers, SU-200 UV-A sensor, and the SI-100 Series of Infrared Radiometers. When used as a standalone field-logging device, the unit features enough memory to store 9 months of one minute data using the internal battery. Data can be viewed on your mobile device using our free Apogee Connect App software for iOS and Android devices. Apogee Connect features live meter mode, real-time graphing, and the ability to send datasets to your computer via email.

High-accuracy short wave radiation measurements for environmental applications and photovoltaic systems
Apogee offers two types of pyranometers: our original silicon-cell models and our new line of thermopile pyranometers. Both products are now ISO 9060:2018 Class C rated (previously known as second class). Silicon-cell solar radiation sensor models are excellent for applications that do not require the higher accuracy and cost of a thermopile pyranometer. They are less expensive and have a faster response time, but they have higher errors under cloudy conditions. Our new cost-effective thermopile pyranometers feature a blackbody thermopile detector, which provides a much broader and more uniform spectral response for better performance in all atmospheric conditions. Our thermopile pyranometers compare favorably to Class A thermopile pyranometers for only a fraction of the cost. Applications of these products include shortwave radiation measurement in agricultural, ecological, and hydrological weather networks; measurement of global solar radiation; and optimization of photovoltaic systems. The upward- and downward-looking thermopile models can also be used to create an albedometer.
